New Mutants

Just in case you thought you might get out of it, the volunteer time you were supposed to do last month is being rescheduled for next weekend (Feb. 23). Place is the same - NYC Free Clinic is doing a food drive this month - time is still 3 p.m., and Jean-Phillipe will still be driving you, so still no excuses.

I don't know who that is.

I just don't wanna go on a field trip right now. Every time we go out on a field trip bad stuff happens. Leaving the mansion is okay. But every time we leave the mansion as a group for a field trip bad guys attack.

I like fighting bad guys but I don't wanna fight bad guys right now.

I'm taking a sick day from bad guys.

Plus I wanna wear my costume when I fight them but not everybody has a costume.

OK. How about this - you and I will go to the clinic and meet everybody there. Not a field trip, it'll be us helping out completely separate from a group thing and there won't be any bad guys 'cause of the curse. I promise.

And then we'll go for movies or ice cream or something.

There's a curse? Is it a magic curse? That makes sense! Maybe Amanda can fix it. Field trips are supposed to be fun. They were in California. We didn't fight anybody in California on field trips. Maybe we can just tell the bad guys "no kidnapping" cause I can totally fight them right where we are. We don't gotta go anywhere else.

I don't think the others wanna go either, though.

I don't know if it's a real curse, but there sure does seem to be a pattern. And once or twice it's even gone totally fine, no trouble at all.

The very first sniff of a bad guy, Jean-Phillipe and Angel and I will get you all in the van or my car and to my mom's house, Amanda made it safe there like it is here, and then we'll go back and fight them.

We got teleported one time. All of us and didn't know the bad guys were gonna do that. And the Slendermen pulled us into another dimension and none of you guys believed us until Maddie said something. Bad guys are sneaky. Seriously.

Okay...I'll go but I get to bring my costume. If the bad guys attack us I get to wear it. And I get to help. Promise?

Yeah but if Maddie hadn't figured it out....Bad guys are sneaky, that's all. There could be different kinda bad guys. Who can like...turn people into rabbits.
