As many of you are already aware, Dr. Essex is no longer with us. Recent events have unfortunately led us to a parting of the ways, and Dr. Essex will be pursuing his research in the private sector from now on. I realize that this may come as a shock to many of you, and if you have any questions please feel free to speak to me in my office, where I will answer them as best I can.

Rest assured that despite Dr. Essex's departure, Betsy Braddock will be given the best possible care we can offer. Dr. McCoy and I will be doing our utmost to bring her back to us.

Kitty, Marie-Ange, I would particularly like to speak with the two of you--separately or together, as you prefer--about your progress under Dr. Essex's instruction, so that we can determine the best way for you to continue the great strides you have already taken.

Finally, on a personal note: despite our regrettable differences, I have nothing but the utmost respect for Dr. Essex's intellect and accomplishments, and I wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.

Students,

I have recently been dismissed from my post here at the school. I apologize for the lack of forewarning in this, but events have a tendency of moving faster than we may anticipate. Unfortunately, my classes with Ms Colbert and Ms Pryde have been terminated, effective immediately. I encourage you all to continue with your training, so you may go and find your own way in this world, without endangering or being endangered by your powers. I shall not be contactable, however, should the event of an emergency arrive, you may leave a message for me with Pygmalian Biotechnology, where I will be resuming my research. I shall endevour to respond if circumstances permit.

Yours,

Doctor Nathaniel Essex

Rumors may have started circulating already, and this post is to clarify, as best I am able, what has happened to Ms. Braddock.

According to Dr. Essex, last week he performed neurosurgery on Ms. Braddock, in an attempt, I believe, to cure her blindness.

The operation revealed more damage than originally diagnosed. And as a result of the surgery, Ms. Braddock is in a coma, and Dr. Essex is uncertain when, or if, she will recover. Her lawyers and next of kin have been notified.

Dr. Essex is taking a journey that he hopes will be able to shed some light on a way to help Ms. Braddock make a full recovery.

And before the question is asked, no, none of the teachers save Dr. Essex and Ms. Braddock knew of the surgery before Dr. Essex announced his result to the staff on Saturday.

Visiting her is not possible at this time, with Dr. Essex away from the school. When he returns, anyone interested may ask him for permission.

I shall be running a test launch of several experiments this Tuesday and will not be available for some time. If you need to reach me, you can leave a message on my voicemail. The main research bay will not be accessible during the duration of the cycle for the experiment. If you do require any access to the lab, I suggest you make arrangements prior to noon tomorrow. Otherwise, I and it will not be available until Friday.

Greetings.

I will be holding a lecture on aspects of biological and physiological mutation on Thursday. We shall not only deal with mechanics of general and specific mutations, but also that of evolutionatory patterns and the structure of species advancement. This is not a mandatory lecture. I am only interested in the attendence of those who are interested. Graduate student may feel free to sit in, but no staff, if you would. Staff who are interested in the topic can contact me privately for a summery.

The lecture will run approximately two hours, and no, Mr Drake, there will not be any homework or assignments. You will not require any additional materials. There will be a question and answer period following the lecture. Sign up on this board if you plan to attend.
